It’s neither a fully fledged off-roader nor a fully fledged MPV, but the Yeti blends elements of both into what might be the most imaginative crossover vehicle yet. Not all versions have four-wheel drive, but where it exists it’s backed up by a surprising amount of all-terrain technology – including, on the top-spec model, an ‘off-road’ button which aims to be a one-stop equivalent to the programmable systems now used on the Discovery, Land Cruiser and others.
More importantly, though, the Yeti has an interior that brings a new level of practicality to vehicles of this size. This is standard on all models, which start at a great-value £17,585 in 4x4 form. It’s still a bargain at the top of the range, too – not least because there are some outstanding discounts available.
