NISSAN Juke review

THERE ARE LOTS of words that might come to mind when you set your eyes on the Juke. ‘Bland’ is unlikely to be one of them.

Nissan calls the vehicle a crossover, and there’s definitely a touch of the SUV to its attitude. In terms of size, though, it’s more of a supermini on steroids (and possibly something hallucinogenic, too).

Adding to the SUV image is a range-topping 4x4 model costing more than twenty grand. That’s 15% extra on top of the front-wheel drive equivalent – but definitely worth it.

The Juke is built at Nissan’s Sunderland factory, except in the case of the 4x4 model which is imported from Japan. Supply has been a bit of a problem thus far, so we’re yet to get a shot of an all-wheel-drive version. The model tested here is equipped with the same engine, though, a turbocharged 1.6-litre petrol unit which is the only power plant on offer in the 4x4.
