If unfamiliar technology scares you, living with the RX450h might mean a lot of sleepless nights. Hybrids have been around for a decade now, though, so petrol-electric power is well proven – and everything else about it is very easy to get on with.Predictably, our testers commented on the Lexus’ towering build quality, though the combination of plastic tones and textures weren’t to everyone’s taste. A huge cubby and glovebox got the nod all-round, however, as did its clever fold-out door pockets; you don’t expect it to be the last word in practicality, but for a vehicle that leads on style they’ve spent time on the workaday stuff too.
t’s the same in the back, where the seats slide and recline to allow enormous legroom. It’s not so generous up top, though, and testers complained that with their seats in the most comfortable position, their heads were behind the door window. Dropping the seats is easy, with a one-shot action that creates a near-flat floor, and the cargo bay you’re left with is surprisingly long.
