It’s fair to say that all our testers were impressed with the Allroad’s exterior. Its ice-cool looks are continued inside the cabin, too, where they blend with meticulous build quality and excellent materials – though the sheer amount of electronic gadgetry you’ve got to cope with can be a bit overwhelming at first.
Getting comfortable is easy, with masses of seat adjustment, but stowage opportunities are limited thanks to a small glovebox and door pockets. It’s a different story at the back, though, where the rear seats fold to create a very long load bay. Our testers’ only criticism here was that they don’t fold all the way down to leave a totally flat floor.
When you’re putting people rather than cargo in the back, sculpted front seat-backs mean they get more than adequate legroom. Headroom is only just enough, however, and a high waistline creates a rather claustrophobic ambience.
